The Act on the Technische Hilfswerk (THW), also known as the THW Act, includes various provisions that are important for the daily work of the THW. In addition to defining its legal structure, it sets out the statutory duties of the THW and regulates the training and professional development of the volunteer operatives.

The act came into force on 22 January 1990 and was last amended on 15 April 2020.
